“Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit.”

That line from Edward Abbey has always stayed with me. Who doesn’t love dogs, wilderness, and seeing humans make something happen through pure effort, energy, and spirit — with no loot involved? People working in pursuit of… well, I’m not even sure exactly, but Abbey’s quote speaks to some of those values.
I’ve been fortunate to explore so many fascinating subcultures through my work, and this new project is one of them.
Don’t get me wrong — I’d love to be involved with big-time, celebrity filled documentaries. In my mind, one of the best documentaries ever made is The Last Dance, and I’m not even a huge basketball fan. What a story, and what a cast of real-life characters. You can’t make this stuff up. As they say, truth is stranger (and often better ) than fiction.
We won’t even talk about his NASCAR team. Go Heels!
